Overview

Swift has always had its roots in the Local Government sector. In common with many entrepreneurial software companies of the early 1990s, Swift started small, as a software development company with a limited product offering. The company grew steadily with the constant aim of expanding its product line to embrace the new opportunities presented by the Internet.

The acquisition of Land specific software applications from ICL (now Fujitsu) gave us the impetus both to develop these existing applications for web use and to reach out to new markets with integrated solutions for Planning, Building Control and Enforcements.

As Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have similarly moved with the times to become more user oriented than the expert systems of the past, we have adopted easy to use mapping tools to deliver Land and Property “apps with maps”.

Recognising the close connection between Land and Property and Environment, Swift expanded its range in 2008 to include environmental management software for every aspect of StreetScene operations, Licensing, Trading standards and Environmental Health.

Today, Swift has a sizeable and loyal customer base that spans larger metropolitan councils, smaller districts, unitaries and National Parks. We attribute our success to our customers with whom we work very closely to achieve the common aims of delivering cost effective application software that grows in line with constantly changing statutory requirements and is intuitive and easy to use, ensuring maximum user acceptance.

Under the framework agreement issued by Buying Solutions following the OJEU procedure, Swift DataPro supplies Planning related software applications under the  framework agreement (RM865) for the supply of Local Government Software Applications.
